My friends!
Long time, no chat, hey? đ
I apologize for that because I have truly missed the interaction here with all of you. It’s time to resurrect the ol’ blog this summer and what better way to do that than with a heart-to-heart on what has been happening here in my own life and with Verity. Many good things, I’m happy to report. I am indeed blessed.
July along the shores of Lake Superior finds us Wisconsinites relishing the warm, sunny days of the season, long midsummer nights, and a pace that is oddly both relaxing and breakneck, if you know what I mean. My boys are currently 4 and 2 (they have late fall/early winter birthdays), and as I write, they are out catching frogs in the swampy area of our woods, complete with mud, shorts, and rain boots. I love that they’re country boys to the greatest degree.
Our sweet babe is due in less than 4 weeks now, sending this mama into a flurry nesting this week like nothing seen before this pregnancy. I was actually beginning to wonder if I would be hit with the prep bug at all this, and I’m sure grateful I was! Things are finally in some semblance of order and preparedness for this little girl to enter our family whenever she decides to make an appearance.
So from now til the end of July, I’m wrapping up current client projects and will have a few fun, new websites to share with you shortly. I’m blessed to be able to take a short maternity leave for the month of August, and frankly, can’t even wait. Not only will it signify our baby girl’s imminent arrival, but I’m excited that my business is at the place of being able to take some extended time off and for the time freedom I will enjoy. Of course, that’s not to say I don’t have goals while I’m on leave–my list of significant goal items to accomplish is now sitting at half a dozen things and may or may not include the idea of a rebrand, email challenges, and a few different educational materials/programs. Ideas are always percolating… always percolating. đ So even if I’m not technically “working,” this thing called entrepreneurship is a fire that burns deep and you never know what I might come up with as far as surprises for when I return.
I have some exciting things definitely planned for you all while I’m on my short leave–regardless of whether or not I accomplish anything than baby snuggling in August. I plan to continue interacting with you all on social media (especially Instagram, so come hang out with me there!), and also have a stellar lineup of guest bloggers scheduled to share their expertise and experience with you in areas of mompreneurship, small business values, branding, and much more. I can’t even tell you how thrilled and honored I am to have these wonderful (and brilliant) ladies on board for August and September. Stay tuned for that!
And in September, I’ll be back in full force. In fact, I’m currently booking for September and October. If you’ve been interested in learning more about a web design or copywriting project, now is the perfect time to get in touch and we can chat through the process.
July also marks the halfway point of 2016 (what?!). Seriously. It’s hard to wrap my head around that, but it’s a good calendar reminder to take stock of how the first half of the year has gone, take another look at our goals for this third quarter, map out an action plan for how to accomplish those goals, and finish out the second half of 2016 with the same or greater momentum than we had before.
I’d LOVE to hear from you and connect! Would you do me a favor and say hi in the comments? Let me know how you’re summer is going, how your goals are going, if you need help with anything, or if there’s any content you’d love to see from Verity. I want nothing more than to make new friends and reconnect with old ones. <3 You all are the best.
