I’VE BEEN WRITING STORIES, PLAYS, PAPERS, AND NON-FICTION FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
I may or may not have been the leader of the Christmas Eve program that all my younger cousins were *encouraged* (coerced?) to participate in.
You’re not alone if you feel terrified to write words for your brand.
You’re not alone if you feel intimidated, unqualified, skittish, or a severe case of that dreaded “blinking cursor” syndrome when you need to communicate the heartbeat of your business.
Words are hard, and when you are in the millions of details of your business, it can be hard to see the forest for the trees, so to speak.
It’s hard to know what your audience is going to resonate with so your copy can truly work FOR your brand. So it can cut through the noise in your industry, not just add to the cacophony of messages that bombard your ideal client.
My background is brand strategy + website design + copy.
This gives me the unique position of knowing how to write for the web, how to create compelling messages that also look like they’re meant for the pages of a website, and how to take those core brand components — like mission, vision, and values — and use them to communicate a message that speaks to your people.
A message that fits like your favorite pair of jeans. Naturally, comfortably, and like it was custom made for you.
BUT WHO AM I AS A HUMAN BEING?
I was raised along the rural shore of Lake Superior, and now am raising my own little family along that same shoreline. The spousal unit, Matt, and the three little men and one girl who call us mommy and daddy are my favorite people in the whole world.
I juggle the amazing adventure and blessing of being a homeschooling mom and owning a business. (If you want to see more of that in action, I tend to pop on Instagram Stories to chat about life –> @verityandco).
A LITTLE ABOUT MY NAME
Verity is a word meaning honesty and integrity. This is why I chose it to represent my business. (A fun, little backstory: when we were pregnant with our second baby, I was musing about a potential girl name and came across ‘Verity’. I had read about an adoption story where the parents gave their new daughter that very name, and it stuck. Then we had a second boy! The name Verity stayed in my mind for another season until this business was born).
My goal is to provide a service that is refreshing, personal, unexpected, and opportune in the world of brand messaging & copy.
Because Verity & Co is me & you.
